Located on the corner of E. Ash St. and N. Trinity St. is the Wise County Veterans Park.  This park was a joint venture between the Wise County Veterans Group and the City of Decatur.   The park is lined with brick pavers that hold the names of 1,500 veterans and allowing up to 7,000 names to be permanently honored.  The walkway takes you along the "Path of Sacrifice and Valor" which includes 18 brass placards that commemorate American sacrifices from the Revolutionary War to Present.  In the center of the park is an eternal flame that signifies the price that must be paid for our freedoms.
